Judas Priest의 앨범 중에서 가장 이색적인 대접을 받는 "Turbo" 앨범이다. 결코 완성도가 떨어지거나 하지는 않지만 한결 말랑말랑하고 듣기 편한 사운드를 시도하여 기존의 메탈 매니아들로부터 질타를 받았다. 기타 신디사이저의 도입으로 기존 음악보다 세련되고 신선한 음의 입자가 탄생되었다. 특유의 공격성은 줄어든 반면 멜로디의 비중을 높임으로써 접근성이 한결 높아졌다. 신비스러운 전자음을 차용한 "Turbo Lover", 차분하고 웅장한 느낌의 대곡 "Out in the Cold" 등의 곡들이 인기를 얻었다.
