Gamma Ray의 네 번째 정규작 Land Of The Free 에서의 아쉬움이라면 누구나가 '보컬리스트의 부재'를 꼽을 것으로 생각된다. 가슴이 뻥 뚤리는 듯한 Ralf Scheepers의 보이스에 비하면 Kai Hansen의 보컬력은 초라하기 그지없기 때문이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 개인적으로 Land Of The Free 앨범을 Gamma Ray 최고의 음반으로 꼽는 이유는 '멜로디'에 있다. 단순히 좋은 멜로디가 아니라 거장만이 만들어 낼 수 있는 근본이 다른 창조적인 멜로디이다. Gamma Ray는 모든 앨범이 명반으로 인정받고 있고, 이 부분에서도 Kai Hansen의 무한한 역량을 느낄 수 있다.
