보컬과 베이스의 Blackie Lawless를 중심으로 1982년 조직된 W.A.S.P.의 걸작 중 하나로 손꼽히는 문제작이다. Glam Metal을 기반으로 하여 Shock Rock 이미지의 음악을 들려주던 초기에서 서서히 사회비판적이고 지적인 프로그레시브 사운드로 방향 선회를 하던 밴드의 음악적 역량이 집결된 역작이다. 본작의 하이라이트로 기타솔로 연주가 압권인 "The Idol", 블래키의 호소력 짙은 보이스를 들을 수 있는 명발라드 "Hold on to My Heart" 등을 담고 있다.
