Nirvana의 Nevermaind에 묻히고, 스매싱 펌킨스의 다른 앨범과 비교해서도 그리 부각되지 못하고 있지만 얼터네비트 록계에서 이만큼 꽉찬 밀도와 카리스마를 가진 앨범은 드물다. 멜론콜리 앨범이 밴드의 최고작으로 여겨진다면, 그 다음가는 위치는 이 데뷔작이 될 것이다. 어쩌면 멜론콜리보다도 더 뛰어난 앨범일 수도 있음.
