사라진 문명 Atlantis에 관한 이야기를 컨셉화한 Symphony X 의 5집앨범 V 로, Baroque Metal 에서 Progressive Metal 로 확실히 무게중심이 옮겨진 연계적이고 미학적인 구성을 지니고 있다. 오케스트레이션이 도입되어 한층 풍성한 사운드를 들려주며 완벽에 가까운 뛰어나고 치밀한 곡 전개는 소름이 끼칠 정도이다. 상당히 멋진 기타톤을 들려주는 Michael Romeo와 키보디스트 Michael Pinnella의 스트레이트한 속주경쟁이 돋보이며 Russell Allen의 파워보이스는 따를 자가 없는 최강이라 생각된다. Egypt, Rediscovery part ll-The New Mythology등의 곡들에서 미학적인 Progressive Metal 의 절정을 맛볼 수 있다.
