Symphony Of The Enchanted Lands Part ll 의 전초전격인 EP 앨범 The Dark Secret 으로, 30분의 러닝타임에 5곡을 수록하고 있다. 영화 '반지의 제왕'에서 '사루만'역을 맡았던 Christopher Lee의 출연으로 화제가 되기도 하였는데, 여전히 막강한 프로덕션 아래에 한편의 사운드트랙을 연상케하는 장중한 음악을 들려주고 있다. 수록곡중 1곡은 9월에 발매되는 정규작에 그대로 수록되며 3곡은 다른 버전으로 각각 담기게 된다. Luca Turilli와 Alex Staropoli의 프로듀싱으로 완성되었으며, 그간 앨범을 총지휘했던 Sascha Paeth는 엔지니어로만 참여하였다.
