Evol은 1993년 결성된 이탈리아 출신의 Symphonic Black Metal 트리오이다. 보컬, 키보드의 Giordano Bruno, 여성보컬의 Suspiria, 기타의 Samael Von Martin로 이루어져 있으며, 93년과 94년에 두장의 데모를 내놓고 Adipocere Records와 계약을 맺어 95년에 데뷔작 The Saga Of The Horned King을 발표한다. 본작은 두 번째 작품 Dreamquest으로 Evol의 발매작중 가장 높은 인지도를 지니고 있는데, 일반적인 Black Metal과는 많은 차이를 보인다. Evol 음악의 뿌리는 Classical Dark Wave이며, 다분히 정적인 구성속에서 펼쳐지는 Black Metal 사운드는 처절함과 장엄함이 더욱 부각되는 느낌이다.
