1989년 결성된 Dissection은 데뷔앨범 Somberlain으로 자신들의 존재를 알리기 시작했으며 Nuclear Blast로 옮겨와 발표한 두 번째 앨범인 본작 Storm Of The Light's Bane으로 말미암아 스웨덴 최강의 밴드로 자리매김한다. 기타와 보컬을 맡고 있는 John Nodtveidt와 기타리스트 Johan Norma의 트윈기타는 한치의 오차도 허용하지 않는 초고속 리프를 들려주고 있으며, 파괴적인 연주에 적절한 멜로디가 가미되어 Dissection만의 사운드로 승화되었다. Black/Death Metal의 성전으로 최고의 평가를 얻고 있다.
