현악 오케스트라단의 화려하고 장엄한 연주로 포문을 여는 앨범 Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia으로, 그동안 Dimmu Borgir가 지향해 오던 블랙메틀 오버그라운드화의 결정판이라 할만한 사운드로 가득하다. 표면적으로 전작들에 비해 한층 세련되고 부드러워진 음악을 담고 있으나 실질적 으로는 풍성한 음율의 오케스트레이션과 새로 영입한 Cradle Of Filth 출신의 드러머 Nick Barker의 무자비한 드러밍으로 보다 꽉찬 느낌을 주며 치열한 극적 대비를 이루어내고 있다. 전작들을 수채화로 비유한다면, 본작 Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia은 유화적인 느낌의 기품이 지배하고 있다.
