Deicide는 1987년 베이스와 보컬을 맡고 있는 Glen Benton에 의해 조직된 명 Brutal Death Metal 밴드이다. Deicide는 '신을 죽이는 사람'이란 뜻의 그룹명을 가지고 있는데, 본작은 데모 Sacrificial Suicide 이후에 내놓은 데뷔작으로 Brutal Death Metal 씬에서 확고한 위치를 점령하고 있는 음반이다. Death, Obituary의 명반들을 제작한 바있는 Scott Burns가 프로듀싱을 맡고 있기도 하다. 역시, Death, Obituary, Morbid Angel등과 같은 플로리다 출신으로 초기 Death Metal을 논할 때 빠지지 않는다.
