Additional notes
American musician currently working as mastering engineer for metal & hardcore releases at Visceral Sound Studio in Bethesda, Maryland as well as a government computer specialist.
Hull's noted for his experimental style of guitar playing that incorporates various influences as well as for his use of eight string & seven string guitars.
Equipment:
• Crate Amplifiers
• Orange Amplifiers (mostly for noise recordings/performances)
• Marshall Cabinets (early Pig Destroyer)
• Jackson Guitars (recent and with Agoraphobic Nosebleed)
• Ibanez Guitars (an eight-string)
• B.C. Rich Guitars (up until Phantom Limb, namely a custom B.C. Rich Beast)
• Vader Cabinets
Contrary to popular belief, Scott Hull did not collaborate with Tribes of Neurot on the album "Static Migration" under the pseudonym "Walking Time Bombs", this pseudonym was actually used by Pain Teens guitarist Scott Ayers.
Requiem was originally composed as a soundtrack to a movie, but it was abandoned when Hull began work on Pig Destroyer's "Phantom Limb". The music was later presented in album context at the request of Relapse Records.
Hull has commented that it would not have been his first choice to release as a solo album as it was written for another purpose, suggesting that future solo works will be of a different nature.
